Make LB Magazine it's own site/sub-domain
Since posting ideas here seems to get the most attention I'm going to put this in the general talk board and hope for the best.
The magazine doesn't exactly get a load of attention as a board in the forums and I think part of that has to do with the fact that the forum doesn't really lend itself to high visibility or formatting for this kind of posting. I think if we want this to be something successful the best way to go would be to give the magazine its own space to grow.
I think the best way to go about this would be to install a content management system of some sort on either a subdomain or a full domain and pick a few writers to begin posting articles. As time goes on more writers can be added.
My next suggestion would be for the magazine to not be limited to just LB topics. That would be the main focus but it could also be general news and reviews for live battles, album drops, beefs, and anything else related to hip-hop music.

Please make it a battle culture mag, it would then not only serve as a good system of learning up to date shit about battling but also be a means of garnering more heads for the site, if an unfamiliar hiphop head just stumbles upon it.
Also the subdomain idea is great, this is an all around great idea Im in full support.
@ NOBLE what are your thoughts?

@ Rant and myself were doing this, but didn't like the idea of it being on a unrelated domain. If it could be a button on the top of the site or a mag.letsbeef.com like godbody said we would be interested in continuing it. Almost had a full article out,, not limited to LB news but containing hip hop news in general including battle rap news AND music.

I think it's a pretty good idea, and it's something Mindless has suggested to the staff before in terms of blogs. It will be a great way to attract diverse Hip Hop fans and not just those who want to do online battle rap which is an ever-shrinking niche. We are still in the process of setting up a new site which will be mobile and have an upgraded vBulletin which comes with it's own blog CMS built in. We can, for example, do this using Wordpress. There are ways to set up Wordpress so that both the Wordpress and vBulletin will share the same user database, meaning someone can register on the Wordpress LB mag site and switch over to LetsBeef using the same username and password without having to re-register. I will pitch it the owners and see what they think. That's all I can do tbh. The mobile site we've been working on is based on vB5 but we might have to downgrade to vB4 in order for the Wordpress bridge to work.

vb5 has an o.k. content management system. vb4's is better but not great. If you're going to go 4 I would use the blog system as the CMS and then set it as the front page. That's what I've done with NerdWonk and it, in my opinion, looks the best. There are also plugins for vB that will allow you to port content from WordPress to vB and back so if we wanted to just throw up a WP site in the short term to get something going it wouldn't be hard to port the content over to vB when the time came.
In fact, I've got hosting service on Dreamhost that would be fine for this if we wanted to run a sort of beta version of WP in the short run just to have something put together to show. @ Punk to thread since he has the most stuff in the current iteration of the magazine.

I've also at one point in time compiled a fuckload of shit for a mag I was going to call the LB Ledger or some shit, so I could also write some things for the first few issues if content gets low.

I wouldn't even wait for content to get low. Better to have a lot of content going in than to wait for it to wane. That's part of the issue I'm having with NW is that I don't have any other writers and I don't have time to seed scraper content while writing.
