Is it safe
To press on the gas whenever your car won't start? Like i kept turning the key and it'll try to start but never really do. But the other day, i put my foot on the gas for like 5 seconds while i turn the key and it started.. I think it got something to do with the weather. Plus i blew a fuse so my heater doesn't work lol

Sometimes it can help if your car is delaying a start. dont do it too much though or you will flood the engine

Your car probably just needs heating up. cold nights can make it a bitch to start. especially if its a hoopty.

No it's the opposite of safe(for your car not for you you aint gon blow up or nothin by doin it) Only time you should pump the gas is AFTER it turns over and only if the idle isn't holding or you will flood the engine like Denton said

It's a Dodge Magnum.. Had it for about.. 4-5 years but everything seemed to run fine before it got cold so i think that would be the reason. I usually pull off like 2 minutes after i start it.

yeah its probably just your engine being too cold
get an engine block heater .. theyre pretty cheap and it would most likely solve your problem
you could try keeping it somewhere warm overnight just to make sure and if it works fine then its probably the cold and the engine block heater will take care of it
