US Government Shutdown
Since the government shut down at midnight today... the effects on the US economy and political system could be profound. In fact, 2013 might be the most consequential shutdown ever, surpassing the impact of the Bill Clinton/Newt Gingrich standoffs of 1995 and 1996.
Here are the five things to know about the pending shutdown for Monday, Sept. 30:
The state of play: The new fiscal year starts Tuesday, Oct. 1, so a bill to fund the government must be passed by both chambers in Congress and signed by Obama by midnight tonight.
Who's got the ball? The Senate, because the House passed a spending bill early Sunday that would also delay implementation of the Affordable Care Act for one year. The House also voted to repeal a 2.3% tax on medical devices to help pay for the health care law. Both policy provisions are non-starters for the Democratic majority in the Senate and the White House — so expect the Senate to send the spending bill back to the House without those items. The Senate convenes at 2 p.m. ET.
What about the House? The lawmakers will gavel into session at 10 a.m. ET, but their legislative agenda is unclear. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., says votes could start as early as 11 a.m. ET depending on any Senate action.
Where is Obama? He's meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and then the Cabinet. So far, the president hasn't been negotiating with Congress to resolve the budget impasse. As for the health care law, the state-run health exchanges to help people buy insurance are set to begin Tuesday.
Will I feel the shutdown? Yes and no. Social Security recipients will receive benefits, mail service will continue and taxes will still be collected. But if you wanted to visit a national park, historic site or a Smithsonian museum, those gates and doors will shut Tuesday without funding.

Call me conspiracy loon or what have you but 9-11, these mass-shootings, definitly the boston bombing amongst tons of things...all inside jobs and some staged...look at both sides of an arguement with a clear impartial mind and thouroughly understand before allowing your minds to be influenced and washed as they are everyday...agree or disagree but dont come debatin me if you havent done research into it all..

Nope. Fuck off.
EDIT- Also, the Democrats have had every opportunity to open the Government back up but refuse to do so unless they get their shitty ACA. The HOR has been sending over bills to fund the military, parks service, etc. and the Senate keeps shooting them down. Instead of doing that they're spending more money by having barricades put up around open air monuments in D.C. like the WWII Memorial and the MLK Memorial that are just sidewalks with the monuments around them and require no staff. Oh, and also ordering a park in Virginia that receives no federal funding to be shut down.

from what i understand Obama Care is the main reason this is even happening. The republicans won't agree to signing certain bills that give Obama Care more funding (which will raise taxes and make it MANDATORY for every US citizen to have) which i agree with the republicans fully. Democrats can just blow themselves in this argument
