Text Voter's VP AMNESTY TOURNAMENT
This isn't a sign-up...This is a preliminary public survey to see how many people would be interested in this. We are organizing a tournament that will be held specifically for the voters. Many people have different opinions on what "good voting" is. In this tournament, no one is going to tell you how to vote, but your voting will be subject to the court of public consensus. We are having this tourney to encourage better voting on the site, educate the public on voting through the feedback and assessment, and to give those who may have had their vp lowered for bad voting in the past a second chance.
Pretty much, rather than the normal type of battle where people battle each other, two people will be given the same link to an actual current battle to vote on, and they will then be rated on how well they voted. If they are deemed the better voter, then they move on to the next round.
It's not only about whether you vote for the person with more skill, but how you rate each combatant and how well you expo your vote that will be taken into account. Cause two people can each vote for the same person, but one expo'd better or gave a more realistic/fairer rating.
The ratings will come from a pre-selected panel of judges: 3 (text) mods and 2 non-mods. @ RULE has already committed to join the panel...I'm looking to get two more text mods (@ RhetoriK™ @ Askari...report to thread).
The judges themselves will have to explain their ratings in the threads that will be created for each round.
Please note that you MAY get your voting power raised through participating in this tourney, particularly if you win your rounds. So, I strongly urge anyone who suspects their vp might have been lowered to apply. Application does not guarantee automatic entrance...it will all be subject to staff's discretion. However, if you are denied entry, it isn't necessarily an affront to your voting capability or anything like that. It may simply mean you already have your full voting power and we would like to reserve the spot for someone with lower vp who's trying to become a better voter. People can also apply for a position on the panel of judges....calling all FVC members and anyone with a history of sensible voting. Once again, staff will decide who ends up on the panel. I will also be letting people apply to have their current battles be one of the battles used in this tourney. That way, you're guaranteed to have at least 2 conscious votes on your battle. (You won't be able to add your battle to the list if you're participating in the tourney or are a judge). If this all goes well, it may be something we'll have periodically and we may have one for audio battles in the near future. Please leave any questions, feedback or comments.
