Arizona Battle Scene

Watup LetsBeef? I'm curious about some things. Normally I'm reppin' California, but I've recently made a temporary move to Arizona (North Phoenix area), to finish my college studies. Since I've been here, apart from a few hip-hop shows, I haven't been able to find much of a "battle scene."

I was wondering if anybody has any information regarding battling in Arizona. Contacts, websites, venues, league names, anything. I'm aware that VoiceBox, a subgroup of JumpOff/RapGladiators battles out of Tucson, AZ. I've been wantin' to check that out, but it's a little farther away than I prefer. I'm hopin' maybe somebody can shed some light on a gig similar to VoiceBox, but closer to the greater Phoenix area.

I find it hard to believe that with how popular the battle scene has gotten over the past couple of years that there isn't anything poppin' off in this area. It seems like there are local battle leagues forming everywhere these days. Hopefully someone will come along and put Phoenix on the map, soon. If anybody knows or hears anything, please let me know.

Unfortunately for us here in AZ there aint shit, except all the open mics on the weekend and every now and again they battle. I tried contacting GrindTime when they still had their Arizona division for a try out but since they have made changes to their organization there is no longer an AZ league. Most local artists here perform in local clubs open up for big names and pray to god they get enough of a rep to make it on the radio station.

Ahh, aight. Thanks for the info @~Slypro~ .. What clubs tend to have a chill hip-hop scene on weekends? Any suggestions? I've been to a couple in Tempe and Scottsdale, but there wasn't much goin' down.
