@ Godbody the benefits are crazy as hell. This one recruiter driving a Benz a recently just bought his wife one all off the money he got from this shit but i am going to ask more recruiters about this. They said by the time I get there, I could be e-3 and that's I think nearly 2 thousand fifty thousand bi weekly.
@ Lou Cypher I would think the training for the army would be much more rigorous than the navy. My days back in detroit, that's all I seen. Just combat, shooting, fighting other people's fight. I was done with that life once I got adopted. They just want the best for me so I cant really bitch at them for this. Last thing I want to be is as bum on the streets begging for a quarter.
@ Axis Power any pointers?

Army basic training is more rigorous and intense than the Navy, true. Marine B.T. is harder than them all though. I still stick to my advice of doing what you love, if they truly care... Them seeing you happy is enough to make them happy for you. I don't know though, my dad always beat my ass for stupid shit when I was younger, but my mom never touched me and wasn't really strict at all. So for me, it was hard to please both my parents. As one was strict and one wasn't and just wanted me to be happy. Needless to say, my relationship with my father is almost non existant now.
Also, the pay from the Army or any military branch is a joke. You will get paid the most money while in basic training, if you don't spend much..once you graduate you will have a couple thousand dollars. I started at the rank of E-1 private and worked my way to E-4 Specialist. Within that time, I was shorted money and not paid what I was told I would be getting. Like I said, at the time.. I joined for money. What they was paying me towards the end before I got out, was not enough to risk my life for ANYONE. You have to remember the government is corrupt, and they just want you to see the facade that they portray that this is some great country and shit. It's not. We live in a country that kills it's own people just to maintain population control. Among other things that government officials will never let the public know.
You walk up to any homeless person you see and ask them if they're a veteran, if they say yes...ask them if you should join the military.... land of free and home of the brave? Maybe some are brave enough to fight another person's fight, but we are damn sure not free. The United States is a disgrace to humanity.

Got multiple friends in the Marines, 1 in Army. The pay's shit, you don't really do ''well'' until you're 20+ years in. It's a cool learning experience, sure. But you can travel on your own time without the Military. If you're not 100% sure I wouldn't do it, this shit was ISIS could pop off and you'd be over seas ina second.

*james hardens that bullshit*
@ Obey After 20 years, there is a pension. They pretty pay for everything. Idk if I'll stay there for that long but it would be a plus.
@ Lou Cypher completely agree with everything you stated along with O. Still have a couple years and some change to make a desicion. Balling will always be my first option but if I get like some season ending injury, God forbid, then I'll look into the military. It's a great opportunity overall despite fighting for a country that can't fight for itself and now it's hella corrupted due to that.

Ive been in for nearly 7 years now and I fully cosign your interest in joining. The pay sucks ass until your about 4 years in because you get a yearly raise do to Time in Service. Im a Sergeant and I live pretty well even after forking over 600 a month to my bloodsucking baby momma. I make around 1900 a month after taxes and thats after the rent is paid. after all my bills are paid i pocket roughly 1400-1500. If you want to join and learn some fucking SKILLS go Air Force. If you want to get skills and not be a soft ass bitch then go Army. Dont undercount your own abilities, pick an MOS you think you will enjoy. Im a 12B Combat Engineer. I fucking blow shit up and build wire obstacles for 1 week a month. If fucking sucks minus the blowing shit up part. But at least i get to go to college and its paid for. The Army also has its own basketball, football and Track team. If you want to do all of that you would need to accomplish that once youve finished basic training on your Job training and arrive to your first duty station. I'll give you any advice you need whatever route you choose. If you choose a fucking pog ass job thats not Infantry, Engineer, or MP then you will not ever see any combat. I guarantee that. Besides, even if you deploy you will make a fuckload of money thats stacked onto your base paycheck such as Hazardous Duty, Overseas Pay etc etc and it will all be Tax free. I came back from Afghanistan in 2010 with nearl 30 Stacks in my bank account.
Do you bro. Im here if you need me
