i was 10 and in 4th grade. Kids were being called 1 by 1 over the loudspeaker to pack up and head to the office. In my head i was thinking it was a sickness going around in the school or something

Then I get called down. My father picked us up and my mother was at work in NY. She told us she could see the smoke from the Bronx..

The bridge from NJ to NY was shut down for that entire day after rumors of the bridge getting bombed. Mom dukes was trapped in NY for a day

Next day she went apeshit bought like 100 years worth of food and water. We donated most of it before it went to waste but I appreciate her for doing that cuz in her mind (and everyones in NY/NJ that day) we thought it was World War 3
