BB and IPhones will always come down to personal preference...no one brand is better than the other

i personally cannot stand the texting on an iphone, and would never get one because of it...i have my itouch and a blackberry....no need for an iphone

I don't, but let me be up front and tell you I don't see it.

Here's the thing.

Sever space and server power is expensive. Very expensive, especially to host yourself. Youhave to have a revenue stream that is very, very large for this to work. Advertising probably won't do it. Games and whatnot are very bandwidth intensive. For this to work you will need your own server building, IT guys to run it, a several-thousand dollar Fiber-optic line, ect ect.

For this to work you have to be able to do the following: Either A: Somehow get a large enough base of customers so that you can make enough off of advertisement B. Charge for the service, to which you would have to have a large enough number of exclusive games to make it worth is, (I'm not sure about this one) or C. you have to get money from the company.

I don't see it as profitable.

Sex appeal

It's cool. That's the way marketing works. It's a fashion statement. Just like there's no inherent reason why Nikes are better than Reeboks (other than a fashion statement) most people buy Iphones because they are cool, not because they offer functionality.

Let me tell you something.

Most of the people at my school have an iphone. Seriously. They have it not because it's more functional, or they feel they can get more from it, it's because they think it's cool and the "in" thing.

I Cannot Stand Texting On An iPhone Either (But Thats Because Of The Screen And My Large Fingers And Not The Fact That iOS Devices Have Excellent Screen Technology That Registers Fingers Almost Better Than The Physical Alternatives).

We Are In Negotiations On Company Reserve Of Server Space That We Can't Afford On Our Own (That Wont Be Paid By Our Advertisement Revenue However. That Is Going To Cover Other Outstanding Costs). Can't Say More About That Atm Though.

the thing is tho - i dont need my phone to do those things...i have an itouch, a laptop, also an ipad...i know where youre going and i agree - in terms of capability, the iphone is probably the best device out...but like i said, it goes back to personal preference...i use my phone to network and talk - playing music/games/videos would only kill my battery faster

but i agree with AD - the iphone is sexy...you see it everywhere; tv and movies, magazine ads, music, ect - every celebrity has one, so we think we need one

Seriously. people don't buy the iphone for functionality.

Let me tell you something. I know the Iphone crowd. I go to a university, and one that is probably somewhat recognizable in America. I suspect a large number of Americans could tell you at least something about it.

This is Iphone country. We are the Iphone demographic. White, rich Cal-Berkley hipster rejects. If you want to learn about the iphone demographic, you can come to my school, it's a breeding ground for apple lovers.

And nobody, I mean nobody has their Iphone for functionality. It's sex appeal, nothing more nothing less. Your looking for, "what is the advantage given by the Iphone in functionality?" There isn't one that people buy it for. It's a style choice.

I Know The Appeal Of The iPhone. I Have Predicted That Appeal (And Apples Invasions And Whole Business Strategy For That Matter) 1 Year Before They Announced The iPhone 2G In 2007. I Already Said Before That FOR ME It Doesn't Pose That Appeal But I CAN SEE How It Poses That Appeal To Other People.

Its Cool If You Don't Need Your Phone To Do All Those Things. Though Admittedly, You'd Likely Opt Out For A Device (Here Being A Phone) That Would Replace You Having To Use 5 Devices At The Same Time, If That Device Would Have A Good Enough Battery And Would Likely Have Other Reasonable Attractions (Low Price Points, Etc). Am I Right?

Liz I wasn't putting a downer on your research I'm sure this isn't the only research you have done. But the problem is youre in love with the idea and when you're in love with ideas you find it difficult to understand others (your potential customers) might not like the idea so much. It's human nature. I've ran businesses, I still trade, I'm studying.. It wasn't a dig I just thought I'd give some advice

i would need an amazing battery and basically a cpu...my itouch and BB both share the same problem of lagging (i didnt say BB was perfect) when too much is going on, so i can only imagine the iphone is the same way..i kno combining all 3 or 4 into 1 would be the "effecient" way of going about it, but i have two pockets and no problem filling each
