Yeah I'm gutted for him. Not even because of England. But can you imagine going to your first worldcup, but never getting on the pitch. overlooked for the next world cup. then after another 3 long long years, with just 6 months to go, when the draw has been made and the buzz is really starting to build, you can taste it...you get hit with an injury to stop you from going to yet another world cup, he must be absolutely fucking gutted. Poor kid.
And yeah wires crossed. for some reason I thought Wembley.

Oh and to add insult to injury (litterally!.. No pun intended) Normally your in absolute agony the moment you suffer this injury. But he was smiling when he got stretchered off, even giving Spurs fan a 2-0 hand gesture to get them back for all the abuse they gave him all game. So everyone thought he might have just pulled or tweaked a muscle and would be back in a couple of weeks. So going to the doctors for a scan he would have had no idea how serious it was, only to be told how serious it was and what it meant. it's like the gods are mocking him.
So he gets abused all game. Gets injured. Gets charged with disrepute for antagonizing the spurs fans who egged him on, even throwing coins at him. Then gets the shock news he's gonna miss the world cup. all in 1 game

Yea absolutely. You can't help but feel sorry for this guy! It is a dream to play in a world cup for your country and to be that close n not fulfil ur dream is devastating. Shame, great player very underrated imo he can do anything on a good day. Hope to see him gets back better n stronger.
Since this is a football thread...what are your predictions for the top 16 of the C.L?
