i agree with some of what ETH said
idr the stuff that Corky Romano said tho..
idk MGS4 tried to do too much at once imo, but thats just me.. last fight was epic..,the bosses were all hot.. literally too and that was unintended pun lol, sotry wasnt bad but idk.. um bouta start it ver again on a SAVE+,and relive what was up
actually srcrolled back up.. Corcy was right on part 2.. imo it's MGS3>MGS4 sorry eth
we all know it's gonna be MGS5>the rest tho.. storywise looks good, and gameplay looks EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MGS 3 is dope, but to me it's only dope because of Ocelot, Big Boss and The Boss. I wasn't a big fan of the rest. I had no feeling of being trapped as I was outside, and that was the bets feeling about MGS1 and 2. That feeling of "Shit, I'm caught, where the FUCK do I run to?".
MGS 2 is probably my overall favourite. Gameplay, the ridiculously complex S3 storyline, bosses, even fucking Peter Stillman.
MGS 4 is my second favourite. The gameplay is alright, but the story was INSANE.
MGS 1 being my third favourite, nostalgia and how ground breaking it is.
MGS 3 at the end. It's still an AWESOME game, but Snake will always be better than Big Boss to me. Since playing Walking Dead, I cant really get into how fucked up Big Boss actually gets. Okay, you've lost an eye, Lee sees that and can't raise you his arm.
MGS 4 also had the most intense moment in video game history. FUCKING MICROWAVES!

I guess we're just totally the opposite because I didn't like MGS2 anywhere near as much as 1 or 3. I couldn't stand Emma and her water phobia. I found out Hal slept with his dad's wife. Vamp was a Bi Sexual. I hated playing as Raiden. I hated his girl. The story was 1 of those you can't get your head around until 6 or 7 years later after 4. Thats just the way it was intended. it was a mind fuck of epic proportions.
Anoter thing. About 4. in all the other games when there was a twist you were like "woah". Ocelots call at the end of 1 for example.
Then in 4 you have that scene where Drebin is sat talking to Hal at the end and he reveals he was working for the patriots. I dunno about you but that shit felt forced as fuck. it was like... yeah yeah w.e lets keep it moving. It just felt hemmed in to me. like a lot of stuff in 4 tbh.

Did you not watch the ENTIRE Big Boss and Snake scene at the end where almost every single twist possible gets revealed?

Because IT was the twist you wanted. Ocelot not really being possessed by an arm but being hypnotised to take the role of Liquid. Ocelot being the key member of the patriots.
Also 3 just didn't have the complexity of the others. It was dope, and the twist with Boss being a patriot was awesome, but it didn't have the ridiculous complexity of 2 and 4.

3,4,1, Than 2 Big Boss> Snake in my opinion. Theres nothing like the original.@ EtH I don't think 3 was supposed to have the trapped in feeling because you were "in the woods" technically there would have been virtually anywhere you could go to evade the enemy. Uhm @ Just C i think your main gripes are coming from story as you have no game play complaints that I remember seeing MGS4 was epic. Old Snake was a G. Whenever he was stress free.

@ _Free, the feeling of being trapped is the best part though.
And Big Boss can't be better than Snake. Big Boss was in major trouble the entire time of Operation Snake Eater, and Shadow Moses + Outer Heaven + Zanzibar Island are all much more difficult complexes than Grozni Grad. Not only that, but Snake defeated Big Boss anyways.

If there was no Big Boss there would be no Snake, liquid, Solidus, Patriot's, Zanzibar, Shadow Moses...You get the point. Even though Hayter pretty much played them the same, Big Boss has more character dimension, story wise, I think you'll see that in 5.
