The State Of Online Battling
I've realized that the shit is dying out...it's not just LB, its everywhere. There might've been 20 websites dedicated to battling online 5+ yrs ago & now there's a handful
What does this mean?... I think the online battle rap era...although we still get newcomers, passed...there was a certain window of time in the 2000's where it was at its peak
with live battling becoming so much more popular/mainstream I think people would rather try their hand @ a local league or a big stage like KOTD/URL if they could
the same way live battles are evolving & bigger names are getting involved, and bigger purses are being awarded... online battling has to take a similar step to push it to the next level
back in the day it was hotlines and phone battles, then text battles in chatrooms or w/e, then sites like letsbeef...and now the closest thing to live battling are the tinychat battles. we see the progession of online battling but nobody's pushed the envelope since the tinychat battles popped off
what can be done to push the envelope?

we've battled people from other sites on tinychat, i forgot the name. @ PeacefulW4RRIOR prolly remembers, he use to go in there too. If they were dedicated to promote, an responded if someone did try to contact a admin or someone who could make it happen i bet it'd boost up the promo a lil.. i mean i still find reddit a badass way to advertise,

because [censored].com is dedicated to video audio and text battles
the most traffic comes from text battles which is like taking 3 steps backwards

what you mean? i was one of the first to hop on the 'letsbeef needs a huge upgrade' wave and i suggested a ton of features and ideas to push this shit forward since like 2010 lol
its just with the new skin and $15 for the top battler of the month what else can we do to bring life back to this shit

i mean that battle rap is general has been on the decline for years now
thats why i constantly clowned you about your passion for a new skin. the reason for decreased activity on LB has nothing to do with how pretty it is or how many bells and whistles it has .. it has everything to do with the fact that people simply dont do this as much as they used to
nothing can be added to this or any site to make it active again .. the trend itself needs to re-gain popularity .. thats not something letsbeef is in control of
not that im shittin on the upgrades .. i think its great .. i just think that only so much can be done on LB's part

The trend might be dying but I feel like every 15 yr old n their mom is tryna rap. With the right marketing n shit I think we'd get a lot of newcomers. But the stakes need to be raised.. ie more cash prizes, maybe some LB radio time, or a verse from Lil Flip like LB had way back in the day except with a different rapper. Shit, maybe even get established battlers like Hollow Da Don etc to rock LB clothing in their battles similar to how UFC fighters ha e sponsors on their gear

@ Jason understand (ur smart) there's levels to this shit .. Back when online was at its peak LB was young .. There were not members here with the capital or the vision or drive to make things happen like what are happening now. Had we did a showcase for LB back in 2007 LB could be what KOTD and URL are now.
Shit cost money and most times that money is out of your own pocket .. If God has all this money why didn't he contribute to the showcase?
We are taking the steps to get LB noticed again. PUGZ doin 2 showcases next year .. Only LB members. Muggz is promoting on the basement and he has increased the followers on spreaker using IG and FB. I have started the DEFCON 5 group w/ 2 LB members battling in Nov and also set up a online battle site vs a live battle league event in March where LB will have 6 of its members Repping in a battle event .. NEED TO TALK TO YOU ABOUT THAT EVENT TOO (wtf) has God done nothing .. Those are three examples of people contributing to the site
Some people just need to fall back and understand how illrevelant they are ..
