We got them at OT mate...very disappointing by the team to lose three consecutive matches tho.

I was saying earlier when watching the game that Sunderland will need to win by 2 clear goals if they want to go through. That hasn't changed. United are fucking garbage at the moment but there's time for them to get their confidence back with a win or two to go on a run (not exactly sure when the 2nd leg is) and turn this around. Plus it's at old trafford (Yeah I know but still lol)

If they'd have kept a clean sheet this would have been over (I know away goals don't count) or at least a lot more likely than it is now.

I'm expecting a 2-1 reverse (Can't see Sunderland not scoring) extra time/Penalty's United win.

And was I the only 1 looking at the united team and subs coming on and off thinking how ridiculously average this side is? it's crazy.

Yeah but the Dutch league apart from Ajax, AZ Alkmaar and maybe PSV is basically a championship/bottom of the Premier League.

There has only been 1 player who came straight from Holland and had a just as good if not better goal scoring record than the 1 he had in the Eridivise when he played in the Prem and that's..... Van Nistleroy.

Van Persie was a baby when he left Feyonoord for Arsenal and I'm pretty sure he didn't even have a good goals to games record in Holland.

Dennis Bergkamp played for Inter before he went to Arsenal. And he didn't score anywhere near as many goals for either club as he did for Ajax. But that was more down to his style of play than talent. Bergkamp wasn't a striker in the mould of a Van Nistlerooy, Shearer or Andy Cole. He was more of a Zola type player. A play maker who could score goals but was more about creating.

The point is. Just because a player scores a shit ton of goals in 1 league doesn't mean he will do it in another. Fuck. players go from 1 team to another in the SAME league and have problems (Fernando Torres? lol). Theres so many factors, For a start you're going from playing with 1 set of 11 players to a completely different set. if they aren't set up to to put you in the same goal scoring positions as the previous, it just isn't going to happen. New Climate, the pace and physicallity/competitive increase of the new league. The wife and kids can't settle in (Tevez had a night mare with this making him awkward to deal with but luckly he was a born competitor who needed the pitch to escape. No matter what bullshit he had going on once he crossed that line it was on) Home sickness (This isn't the NBA where 90% plau of their players are born and raised in that league they never leave unless it's to take a step down) I could go on all day. Players aren't robots. I think people forget this and think they should be able to just turn it on at the drop of a hat.
