Install a general discussion forum. The domain is pretty solid & the hosting is GoDaddy but I haven't gotten around to CHMOD'ing the forum so I can install in properly

Are you looking for a vbulli kind of forum? If so, just mess around with it yourself. It's very easy to get the hang of and saves you paying or entrusting someone to maintain it for you.

You need to CHMOD the files so you can install myBB? roflmfao Oh Go Daddy. Your terribleness will never cease to provide me with an infinite number of lulz.
It should be in the MyPHPAdmin or w/e control panel they have over there. They should have a flash file browser you can open up to edit/delete/upload files. You can probably do it from there.
When your hosting runs out switch to a better hosting service.

The better idea is probably to spend your time figuring how to monetize the site and just hiring someone to do it, if making money is your goal.

Ahem, what you do is, download an FTP client like FileZilla, CoreFTP ext. There's others to download as well. Once you have downloaded the client an installed in on your computer, go to your web host, go into you database options which should be found within the MySQL Tab or MyPHP, look for your database name , if you dont have one then create one, the steps are pretty straight forward. Once you have done that you will need that information to connect via FTP so you can manage/upload/edit files to how you see fit an needed. Thats where you will give the files the correct permissions to do what they need to do.. Its easier than you think, ive done plenty, myBB, nulled VB, SMF, phpBB all of them.. LOL...
