I have dual booted a linux system for quite a while. It's good for networking, but not really anything past that.

I've been using Ubuntu since version 9.something or another @ Riltih. I've completely abandoned Unity in 12.04 for the regular GNOME 3 interface.

Why Ubuntu over Debian?
I don't know anything about that side of Linux, I always used Red Hat.

Ubuntu is a little bit more hand holding and the sources for fixing things are numerous. That's not to say Debian doesn't have a lot of help sources, just that Ubuntu's is fucking MASSIVE because tons of people use it. I'm actually thinking about switching over to a vanilla Debian install since I absolutely LOATHE what they've done with Ubuntu.
