Question to Audio Guys
Ok, so I reciently voted on an audio battle. I'm not swaying by saying who battled but they both know as it's the only one I've voted on latley, It's a text-to-audio vs an audio guy. It seems like all the text guys are voting for the text guy, and all the audio votes for the audio guy.
Now, I personally believe that being in text first, makes us understand it all more. We get the importance of punches and lyricism as the number one thing in the battle.
I just want to ask the audio (non text) guys, what they prioritise. To me it seems like flow and listenability. You guys can't be marking punches first as on a few occasions that Ive seen, a text guy with clearly better punches has last to someone with decent at best ones. What is your voting aims?

For some reason audio guys have the worst sense of voting. Not all of them, but many believe that "delivery" or "energy" wins battles. I got voted against so many times for being monotone but having way better punches...If you guys want to climax from a voice, listen to Ted Williams.
Most audio heads wouldn't know a metaphor or wordplay if it smacked them in the ass.

lol...pULSe is right to an extent. i think that some text cats UNDER appreciate energy and delivery, but yeah....some audio heads, if not most, are terrible voters.

A great punchline with shitty flow, doesn't hit as hard as a good punchline with great flow.

yes..thank you for changing the argument...
we're debating if a great punchline with decent flow is better than a decent punchline with great flow

Yeah?....well I was talking to Reefer last night and he said...and i quote "Text takes more skill than Audio"....Speaks volumes about the state of mind of the average texter on lets beef....That's a rediculous statement to make...And you all know it...And u guys say u "lose sharpnes" crossing to audio..Nu uh...it's just half the shit you say in text ..DOESNT WORK in audio....Rap = Audio..So therefore it means that Texters are doing something wrong with the wordplay and general structure of their bars...And are infact NOT loosing sharpness when they cross over to audio

I've been a text cat my entire time on this site. And personally, I think both are valid. Text brings that lyricism and punchlines, (sometimes flow, I've seen some ill flows come from texters) and being in audio, gets that great flow, energy, and delivery..like, both are valid in rap, I don't see what the debate is about. They're equal, one isn't better then the other, just because Audio you use your voice, and text you use your words...both are important.
Look at 2Pac, if he had the same voice, but shitty choice-of-words, would he still be the dopest rap artist known to man? Aha, I know that may be over-playing it, but seriously. Both ARE important, and text isn't better then audio, and audio isn't better then text.

the problem you have is that you are comparing audio verses to written text battles...text was NEVER meant to be put to music.
they are two different animals, and i actually agree that its more difficult to write a text battle than an audio battle. quite honestly, i can take your opinion on this because you've only done one of the two with any real serious success.
case in point...the audio battle that Reef and i have right now is probably one of the hottest battles of the year so far...but it took me less than 15 minutes to write...the last battle i sent to Reef took at least an hour....
when working in text, the only means to express is through your ideas...whereas with audio, you have the crutch of a flow and delivery to help with the writing
