Your thoughts on reality.
So, I've been questioning reality a lot lately.
To myself, to other people. And so I was wondering what some of the LB-ers takes on reality were. I'ma check this thread, toss around some thoughts also. maybe get an argument, or two started. Lol. But yeah, share your ideas, and expect to have them questioned. By anyone who feels like questioning them in this thread.
Here's a conversation Rhetorik, and I had on the subject just a few minutes ago.
fdsfg says (17:01):
*You know what I can't stand?
RhetoriK says (17:02):
*what's that?
fdsfg says (17:02):
*Idiots who think they're philosophical, just because they don't make sense.
RhetoriK says (17:02):
*word. But is philosophy real.. if life isn't?
RhetoriK says (17:03):
*philosphy is just an inference on the unknown dawg.
fdsfg says (17:03):
*Nothing is real, unless we percieve it to be.
*But, it doesn't have to be real to hold my interest.
*Fiction holds my interest, it isn't real.
*So, why can't the same be said about life, and everything in it?
RhetoriK says (17:04):
*It can be 'said' ...thing is would people believe it?
fdsfg says (17:04):
*Rephrase that, it seems like it's missing something.
*Nevermind, I get you.
RhetoriK says (17:05):
*That's a 'rhetorikal question' mind you.
fdsfg says (17:05):
*Misread it.
RhetoriK says (17:05):
*lol, s'all good
fdsfg says (17:05):
*But anyways, my point about people like that cam from this, I'ma post some shit this chick and I talked about earlier.
*Lol.
RhetoriK says (17:05):
*word.
fdsfg says (17:06):
*(12:13) fdsfg: What if nothing is real? (12:13) Lauren: Then were screwed (12:13) fdsfg: How so?
How can we be anything if we're nothing? (12:14) Lauren: Because everybody is nothing. Therfore we are anything if were nothing, because we would be the opposite of nothing if were were nothing and everyone was anything. And everyone is anything so we are nothing, therefore, we are anything.
*(12:15) fdsfg: If we're nothing, then we're nothing. Nothing doesn't make us anything. (12:15) Lauren: Nothing does not exist. (12:15) fdsfg: So therefore we do not exist, as we are nothing.
So therefore, nothing is real. (12:16) Lauren: No. We are anything. Which could possibly be nothing, yet nothing does not exist. So we do not exist if we choose to be nothing. (12:16) fdsfg: So, as us being nothing, does that make us real, or unreal? (12:17) fdsfg: How can we be anything if we're not real?
fdsfg says (17:07):
* (12:17) fdsfg: If there is not one thing that is real, not anyone, not anything. If it's all unreal. Then how are we anything? (12:18) Lauren: STOP
OMG
TOO
MUCH
FOR ME (12:18) fdsfg: We're unreal, so I suppose that makes us something in a sense. (12:18) Lauren: SHUSH (12:18) fdsfg: :x
Sorry/.
RhetoriK says (17:07):
*geezus really? hold up. let me read it
RhetoriK says (17:08):
*dawg, if nothings real... i don't thin it matters. i think that it's the fear of all things being a waste is nothing.
*nah.. check that..
fdsfg says (17:08):
*Nah, I get that, it's not about my point.
*it's about her's, read what she was saying.
*Lol.
*I found it comically moronic.
fdsfg says (17:09):
*But yes, if nothing is real, then nothing matters.
*The two go hand in hand.
*I'm not saying nothing is real, more so questioning reality.
RhetoriK says (17:10):
*lol. she's off.
fdsfg says (17:11):
*She's just talking herself in circles.
fdsfg says (17:13):
*Peep this, though. What if reality is what we make it. But, we choos to make it unreal ourselves. Is it still reality, because we percieve it that way? Or does it then just become nothing at all? Just... Non-existant? Can something that is made to be unreal, still be considered the reality of someone?
*Choose.*
*Or is it then, considered to be fantasy?
fdsfg says (17:15):
*Take a schizophrenic for example. What they see, and hear, to them that's real. But, because we can't see, or hear it, we consider it just to be delusions. So, how do you distinguish the two?
*What makes something real?
fdsfg says (17:16):
*Is it just blind faith? Are we supposed to just... Believe that what's around us is real?
RhetoriK says (17:16):
*even a schitzophrenic isn't "delusional" 24-7
fdsfg says (17:16):
*No, but you get the point I'm making.
RhetoriK says (17:16):
*yeah. but we create our own purposes for being here.
RhetoriK says (17:17):
*meaning mankind does
*we're all delusinal to an extent. we have the free will to buy the propaganda we feed ourselfs
fdsfg says (17:17):
