Maybe phones are faster but that's about it.
YouTube it, sure there's a million videos on how to do it.

a SSD is a solid state drive, they run faster than hard drives. They speed up your computer boot time, browsing, installation of programs, gaming a bit, etc. Mine is big enough to where i just completely took out my hard drive and I only use the SSD. But, if you want more space than the SSD has you can use both a SSD and a hard drive (to store stuff on), just run windows on the SSD, and all your games etc. But like I said, you could just use a 250/500 GB SSD if your someone that doesn't need that much space and not use a hard drive at all @ SuperGuy

Depends, what do you want it to do? I can give you a list of parts and software, depending on what you're looking for. PCs are good for most people, and Macs are great for music people. There's also a million flavors of Linux, if you're interested in that; grab Ubuntu and find some crash-course in Unix basics and the command line. If you're at all interested in privacy and security on the internet, or getting closer to your computer (any sort of programming), use fucking Linux; it's much more secure, you can alter it way more and do more shit with it, and you can do just about anything you can do on a Windows box with it, provided you have a few simple, easy-to-use tools. There's also lots of different versions that you can use, depending on how advanced you are with it, and what you need it to do. I really can't stress that enough. Any software of importance which is closed-source and developed entirely by a large company (looking at you, IIS) is 100 percent guaranteed to have government backdoors.
Toss me ideas, I can help. I'm not a computer genius, but I do know a fair bit about operating them.

yeah, actually, Superguy tell me your budget and what you want the computer to specialize in and I'll create you a pcpartpicker.com list to look at, so you can just see how much money you could save and how much better your machine will be.
