2016 We Change LB

Hey everyone I wanted to wish everyone a happy new year and fill y'all in on what's been happening behind the scenes a little bit.. I know we habe reached a stalemate with what this site has to offer and i realize we need to change the sites focus dramatically to improve.. My old idea was to offer more options for our users to battle more conveniently and have more incentive..but i no longer think thats the answer... Battle rap in a live forum and online battle rap online is two completely different beasts.. The live battles garner more attention from the public where as we are more of an underground niche collective.. I think its time we break out into this bigger market and cater to a broader spectrum of battle rap fans..especially now with our own live league picking up steam its the best time.. Over this next year you will see this site redevelop into a completely different site almost a social media type site strictly for battle rappers to share work, get feed back and spar for fun.. The online battle element will remain but will be less focused on.. I will be around more often starting next week if anyone has questions or feedback just hit me up!

Did you guys finally hire programmers? 'Cause that would be awesome. If so, how long until we get the features that were supposed to be implemented like three years ago as part of the exclusive like mix tapes and stuff? Because, honestly, if you want to be the place were battle rappers come and post with fans and stuff like RM used to be and RMBVA is now having the site fully featured and allowing them to post their music in an easily accessible place with tons of views would be a great way to start.

If people wanted RMBVA they'd have joined RMBVA. But I guess battling on a rap battle website wasn't gonna last forever.

goldmic was pretty much exactly what pugs might be thinkin about doing. it was more a social type thing with big profiles. etc.. and gold mic died because the active battlers on the site moved on because site battling in general is a dying hobby. onlythe most diehards or loyal members , namely us are keepin it afloat somewhat, maybe because our love for what this site was to us is making us try and prolong the inevitable. kinda like (life support).dudes that are reppin LB in live battling are far in between. and dudes that are already icons to battle rap, look at these sites or online battling in general with ridicule like watchin kids playin with razors and skateboards while they are in actual whips.. just imo.

more like fb groups ??? the ones i am in are full of africans with names like ' prince shady mbele ' or shady patrick zimbali who know nothing about battling but always win as 100 other africans think they are dope lol ? and judges who are the same ... no knowledge of metas ,wordplay etc but will give a win for someone who managed to rhyme 2 words together , and the one who bought battle bars loses because his bars were way to complex for their simple minds ? and just chatting about my experience , i seen plenty of good bars lose to the person with most fb friends or is a pal of the judges .....thats why i dont really battle on fb any more . lb is the place to battle esp with text , dont fuck up that part of it plz dude.

Sad news imo.

Im all for expansion, but lessening the focus on the one thing that sets this site apart from every other on the web (actual battling) is a real bad move in my eyes.

Either way i hope it succeeds mate.

While something drastic needs to be change, not sure if a move towards being a "social media" type site is the answer. The LB Magazine isn't really used and that's already a step towards social media where new battles, new battlers, etc. should be discussed.

I'm not sure what exactly would the "fix" or if there is one.

All I know is IF this site was stripped down to the basics (Battles / Rankings / Tournaments / Forums), got rid of any / all bugs, made mobile friendly / responsive (Able to text & audio battle on any mobile browser) I would be battling all the time.

A modern / simplistic look would be extremely refreshing. New features can be introduced later but having the basics work is KEY.

Of course mass emailing the entire LetsBeef database letting know about the new site wouldn't hurt
