^Not necessarily^ ... Let's take the Rose Bowl or the Orange Bowl into consideration ... They may be playing in what's hosted as "The Rose Bowl" but the winners aren't necessarily the Rose Bowl Champions--they're NATIONAL CHAMPIONS or the winners of the Rose Bowl! In this case, say the name of the tournament hosted is called the "Bodybag Tourney" but it's the only tourney hosted for the whole year (consisting of the top 64 emcees).
GRAND means distinguished/considerably large, so, with that being said, the winner of the tourney would be considered "THE GRAND/distinguished CHAMPION" for the fact that it's the main tournament on LB--or you can say the winner of the "Bodybag Tourney"... Now, which sounds better to you???...
