VOTING - No more "FV" - Work for your credits
 

I would like someone to consider something like this - It would be easy to code, and quick...I know that this site is coded with very structured XHTML, DTD, W3C, etc...


BUT to avoid coding too much, this could be a nice fix...


Anyway, a lot of people vote on battles and just say "fv" and click a random winner just to get credits.

I think that credits should be based on your battles, skill, (stars) rep, etc...

For example, a new member should start out with 15 credits (instead of the 3 I think?)

However, for new members, they should have to vote on 3 battles for 1 credit...Then after they build some rep, 2 battles for one credit, THEN go to the standard 1 vote = 1 credit..

Then HIGHER ranked members should get MORE credits for ONE vote...1 vote = 3 credits, (for example)

Also, I think that BEFORE YOU CAN SUBMIT YOUR VOTE you should have to type a minimum of 140 charicters before submiting your vote (That is a TWEET size post) so it is not a lot of typing...

Anyone who spams for credits like "ueueueueueueueueueueueu" or $$$$$$$$ to fill in spaces should get warnings...

OR -

There should be 3 lines in the comment/vote "Why did you pick your winner" "Tips" "Overall Feedback" something simple and short, but something to avoid CREDIT SPAMMING and unfair votes.

A LOT of people (you can even tell by the votes, even if their vote DOES NOT COUNT, they still earn a credit) They don't even READ the battles...

Just "fv" and click a random person (even though votes are hidden, people EXPO winners a lot on accident or EXPO losers on accident) and that helps people to not even read and just vote based on what the comments say...


EASIEST WAY TO CHANGE "VOTING" WITHOUT CODING...

Disable ANY COMMENTS until AFTER VOTING, or you can only comment AFTER you have voted. (however USERS CAN NOT SEE COMMENTS UNLESS THEY HAVE VOTED)

It would really help the system, as it is semi-flawed by spammers, and credit-biters.

(I like the voting system) but it is easy to take advantage of...I can just click on ALL battles and just vote =

"fv" and click a winner and vote 6/6 on EVERY battle and a moderator would take a long time to actually catch on as they have a LOT of other work to do on the site and can't take time to look at all votes, especially a 6/6 vote as that seems to be very fair in almost ANY battle...

There are many routes you could take but in my opinion, the voting needs to be changed a little bit, or the amount of credits like I said...

3 battle votes to get 1 credit for newer members...Once you become "standard" you can get 1 credit per vote.

More valuable members should get 2 or 3 credits for one vote (however even VETS and Exclusive could spam but it is not as likley)

Thanks for taking time to mention your idea for the good of the site. I had come up with the same idea of 140 characters. Though i didnt mention the char length but yeah compulsory 3-4 lines was my suggestion. I didnt like the disable comments idea though. Bring this to admin notice fam. I think just compulsion of 4-5 lines is enough to improve voting . If anyone spams then he can be banned.

The credit idea needs complex coding. different no of credits to different peeps

Some one got voted against 1 to many times aha.

I don't agree with the credit part, but a minimum number of characters wouldnt be a bad idea. & people giving expos are usuallly discrete and dont mention names. (i do anyways).

You can also get unfair votes removed btw.

It's a good idea, but alot of people have already damaged their voting rep because of posting irrelevant voting lines like "fv" and "Easy!"

I think the general number of points per battle vote should be raised for everybody (to 2, so that battles would be more abundant on LB...)

It's a rap website after all...

Also, maybe the mods could do some type of exclusion for words on the comment box on battles, and have the word "FV" not be allowed, so that people will be forced to actually type something of legitimacy into the box, and actually vote accordingly.
