Recording /Mixing Tips
 
I wanted to know if anyone had any tips as i dont feel im getting good enough quality.. ive got a decent mic rode nt1a.. and sounds clean but im not getting the sound i feel i should... holla if u got any tips .. heres a test

and i have Reaper, Sony Acid, Adobe Audition and Cakewalk... so any tips either with programs or just in general.. id appreciate it

What type of room are you recording in?Could be as simple as getting some acoustical foam for the walls n shit.Or could be your mixing and mastering in general.with the rhode tho you shud be getting damn near the best quality.My homie farnum from grindtime has the same mic but has a built inhome vocal booth and gets PROFESSIONAL quality

Ye possibly is the room. I'm doing it all up in June soundproofing and putting foam up too.

same...i need some tips....@ olde - yo wait until you put the foam up...insane difference...but soundproofing can only do so much (which is my problem)

yo im about to go mic shoppin in about two weeks, im trynna drop about 500 alltogether, im thinkin about a usb mic, but the quality isnt as good as a real one, unless i run it through somthing else..... any tips would be dope...

like some other ish that i should buy along with the mic...

get a mic that runs thru a preamp - M Audio is a good brand - youll be able to get two quality pieces for 500

yeh man im getting fibreboard to soundproof then covering that shit with acoustic foam.. not using too much of a big space so should only cost me around 150...

ya'll both got better quality then I do, by leaps and bounds... i'm tryin to cop a m-audio usb mic... for like 200 thats gonna be my first step my problem is my crib is huge an empty... no carpet its all marble tile... stone walls not insulated (arab shit)... so ya the echo is crazy and I can't figure out how to kill it with garage band yet.... lol i shoulda been the OP of this tbh
