Skillz, his government name, Aaron Elias Negrete, was born on January 31, 1995 in Chicago. Skillz was not supposed be the person that he is today. He was born with the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck and was born not breathing. The doctors would’ve left him for dead but then Skillz let out a cry at the last minute. He lived in an ghetto outside of Chicago called Cicero and then moved to the town next to it, Berwyn. He very often visited the southside of Chicago and it was basically his home away from home. At the age of 3 is when Skillz discovered the most creative, cultural, and most important thing in his life, Hip Hop. At the age of 8, Skillz started having dreams and hopes of being a rapper. At the age of 10, is when he started taking it seriously. Unfortunately, Skillz suffered from a depression at the age of 10 and attempted to cut his own throat so he could end his life.
