I lift my face into the wind chill, this life is like a wind mill/ time keeps spinnin' like a pinwheel/ how long since I been real? How long since I got fresh?/ If all I got is objects what have I accomplished?/ Once apon a time life was story book, beautiful/ Then Corey took his life and had a story book funeral/ Open casket could stone our hearts, with his wrists turned down to hide his opened arms/ We paid no regards to a god that day, no god damn way, the sky was combat grey/ So I walk the streets now with the hood up and hat down/ If I never stood up, then he never woulda backed down, turned to crack and blacked out./ I know we walk our own paths and we never hold hands when we cross the tracks now that were grown men/ I guess its up to us to know when were beefin with an old friend not to cross the line from cold to frozen/ It was emotion and we all get lost inside it, its a labyrinth comprised of all our pain and swallowed pride but I just lost it on that night he said my life was wasted time/ The words came faster than the train of thought/ "bastard you complain a lot, and only use the brain you got to hate ya mom and blame ya pops"/ I didn't think about his family dynamic, how his father was an addict and his mom ignored the habit./ Daddy went to lock-up and mom shut down, and Corey gets ignored when other men come round./ And I left that day in anger with a stuck up mood, the last words I ever said to you were "Fuck you too"/ So when you took your life it felt like I had pulled the blade, and when I lay awake at night I see your sullen face./ Every time I hear your name, life itself gets torn in half, if only I could take the hands of time and force em back./ Corey, your the only fuckin friend I ever had.
