it ended so FAST yet the memories are so slow to come BACK
what seems like just the other DAY ain't nothing but a collection of events beginning to FADE
seemingly MADE to COLLAPSE as quick as FIGHT or FLIGHT REACTS
minutes gone after seconds had PASSED, it all happened so FAST
then i began to REACT to the FACT that the breathe was his LAST
and in his eyes were I once saw HATE
was now replaced by the stare of an emotionless FACE
died for a cause he wasn't down for, couldn't they tell his emotions were FAKE?

got in the gang at a young age for lack of a FATHER
said fuck school, didn't see himself as a SCHOLAR
so he didn't even BOTHER
my BROTHER from ANOTHER MOTHER, a loyal friend like no OTHER
trouble was he was tied up with wrong CREW
tried to talk some sense/cents and give him my TWO
but he never seemed to listen to ME
if only he was in the position to SEE the chalk outline of his body at the crime SCENE
and take a TIME MACHINE to go back and change a few THINGS
so it COULD all work out differently than it DID
and choose a path in which he WOULD still LIVE
i would GIVE anything to see him one more TIME
and step in the LINE of the BULLET
maybe talk some sense to the shooter, tell him he ain't have to PULL IT
