Decent upbringing, Only had my mother, but I was raised well, She fought the toughest battles to keep me out of jail cells, I thank her daily, but my life had to follow it's own decisions, I left home, shortly after reaching nineteen, ready for the inquisition, I set out on a path to be my own man, Even though I saw a destination, I didn't have a plan, next thing I know, I'm talking an oath and raising my right hand, and swearing to defend the constitution from enemies of a foreign land, I was shipped out and said goodbye to what I know as familiar, towards the unexpected lining of the clouds that was silver, I switched up my entire path in just three paces, They had me second guessing my thoughts as I low crawled through basic, I'm surrounded by my brethren, soldiers like me with Camo on they faces, young and old alike, males and females of different races, Fights broke out, because we didn't always see eye to eye, but that never stopped our mission we would at least try, and try again, until the objective was reached, something instilled in us, but the lesson, couldn't be teached, by an instructor or drill sergeant, It lies deep within the margins of where your heart is, I found myself on my knees praying to my heavenly Father, Asking for the wisdom and strength to continue, on my path and on to the next venue, I'm soo hipocritical, because the simple fact, I'm soo sinful, One minute I'm sinning, the next asking HIM to watch over my kinfolk, Here I am years later, away from home with a tear in my eye, I don't know how I can keep floating when the river flows dry...
Lord help me.
