Summer break's finally here, got my family next to me.

We get to on vaca, this is feelin' like our destiny.

If we really enjoy the paradise, we'll wanna stay an extra week.

Cause the last time we left the beach, it was clear we didn't wanna ever leave...

Middle of May, and school's out, this is what we've been waitin' for.

A family vaca where the weather's nice and we'll watch the crashin of the waves ashore.

We're boarding the plane, anxious of what we're fixin' to see.

This is the 2nd time we've ever taken a trip to the beach.

My son asked the flight attendant what we were gonna be given to eat.

She said salmon, rice, and our favorite rolls and that we'd get it for free.

In the meanwhile, I'm irritated and pissed as can be because the 7 year old behind me was kickin the seat.

All because of some candy that he didn't receive...

We finally took off, and after a few minutes of looking for fish in the sea,

I had finally gotten tired enough and drifted to sleep...

A couple of minutes later, my wife shook me vigorously!

The captain went to the intercom and was lettin' us know,

*Brace for impact! One of our engines has blown!*

My son was trying to console his nervous wreck of a mom,

Then all of a sudden all the cabin pressure was gone!

Stomach up in my throat, I was totally sick now,

But was well enough to put an oxygen mask over my kid's mouth.

*BOOM*

I awoke in a daze, smoke 'n the haze blocked my airway as I was tryin' to breathe

I knew very well I had to escape the flames and the stifling heat.

I managed to get out, and saw corpses mixed along the jungle line with debris

The 7 year old kid's body contorted inside of a tree.

*JOHN?!?* *JANE?!?* I let out a worthless cry,

Thinking they must be here, I was looking for any certain sign!

I searched endlessy for them, that's why I feel this hurt inside,

Cause when I found em next to the blown engine they had both been burnt alive...

VERY IMPRESSED WIT LOCK's STORYTELLIN HERE, YOU SHOULD WORK FOR AUDIO BOOKS LOL.  SERIOUSLY THO I REALLY LIKED THA TONE YOU HAD THROUGHOUT AN THA DOUBLE USE OF ''SUMMER BREAKS FINALLY HERE, GOT MY FAMILY NEXT TO ME'' WAS PERFECT AS YOU GAVE IT A TITLE...... GUTS WAS ALSO GOOD HERE, I DID FEEL YOUR SWITCH-UPS IN FLOW LET YOU DOWN A LIL WHEN COMPARED WIT LOCKS VERSE ''TURBULANCE SPEAKS POETRY'' PART WAS MY FAV....... LOCK GETS THIS FOR ME AS I WAS COMPLETELY ZONED IN TO HIS FLOW AN FOLLOWED THA STORY AS HE WAS SPEAKIN (could almost picture tha scene in my head), HAD A SIMILAR FEELIN WIT GUTS TOO BUT LIKE I SAID THA SWITCH-UPS IN THA FLOW WERE WHAT LET YOU DOWN SLIGHTLY.... James Hoffman got this one for me. Guts I appreciated the artistry but i think it was way too abstract and jumbled together to give any kind of a solid mental image or story. Jus tough to follow through. Lock crafted his story really well with great mental imagery and pace. It was really great how he remixed the intro into the conclusion as well. 

Was this some kind of a topical battle or something? :O

What were the rules / stipulations to this topical?

Both had some smooth delivery here but the winner definitely had more punches landed. Multis were about equal and both spit a well battle oriented verse. Unsure how this only has two votes audio heads need to wake up. Fairs in

ok here is what i felt - 

Cadence/Delivery/Flow - 

Jimmy had the more rap kinda flow while Guts had the spoken word poetry kind of a flow which are world's apart and can't be compared in the first place which makes this tough. so it boils down to preference and i am leaning with Jimmy's flow here.

Lyrical Content - 

Jimmy had the story telling element, like a movie poetic enuf with a tragic ending as well. shit was dark and handsomely creative.

Guts as i told him yesterday too, his verse was like robert frost and jay diamond's love child ghost wrote for him or something he wasn't in the story telling mode rather more like embellishing the simple things coz his verse was more english than even the buckingham palace queen.

again yet another matter of preference here, i feel jimmy got this one too coz imo guts' style here is more suited to disses or funny cyphers instead of a topical.

good variety brought by both tho this was like two different dimensions colliding lol
