i hear that, i suffered many losses learning the rules the hard way also. lemme explain so this doesn't happen to you again. if sum1 drops an acapella with a beat you have to bring one, if they drop an acapella without a beat you can still use one. see an acca with no beat gives you an advantage because its harder to flow on a beat than it is to without one. i hope this clarifies the situation for you a little.
