gotta give it to YANB here for putting up a more consistent show

Aight, gave it to god for having a lot more flushed out punchlines with his verse. YANT had a few punchlines which had set-ups that seemed way lazy. For example, the “pick you a part” bar. It was a good idea, and the punch was clean, but the set-up was so short and simple that it made the punchline weak as a whole. You’re wordplay like the Ocenal bar, didn’t work as Oceanal isn’t a word, Em Oceanal isn’t a term, and neither is em oceanal. Some of your multi’s were reaches, like PLACE ain’t gonna rhyme with TANK, not even in any accent I can actually think of either. Your metaphors were nice and made sense though. In contrast I didn’t see any stretching or re-enacting in any of rep’s schemes, and neither were there any broken multi’s. Rep had some really weird wording though, particularly with this first bar, which really brought down the mark for his first punchline. Metaphors were on point for Rep too. Neither had anything that really impressed me vocabulary wise, but rep had the better vocab.

Botb: Cardiac Donor

Explanation: Rep simply had the better content in all areas, YANB fell flat in all the areas Rep didn’t (Multi’s, Set-UPS, Wordplay). Take Rep’s best bar (Cardiac Donor) and compare it to YANB’s best bar (Pick you apart), and not only is the set-up much more complex and better in Rep’s, but the actual punch at the end hit harder too.
