Best 8 line battle I've read in quite a while. Gonna need some time to think this over.

I'll do the honors and hotlist this. Both came with some very good 8 line verses here for very different reasons. EtH: I felt you had one of your cleaner verses you've written so far, and that's saying something. Punches were setup very well and each line was worded cleanly, which is sometimes a rarity in an 8 line battle. Only downside was how some of the ideas you had could be considered played out (principle/school concepts are pretty dated, imho, and that's the main example I would point to). Nevertheless, you did a very good job of with this verse here.

Shodan: I feel your creativity with your lines was leaps and bounds better than what EtH had here and you really went out of the box with some of your concepts. Wording of some of your bars was sorta iffy at times (ISIS Temples bar was a little bit of a reach because of that, but not bad). However, each punch you did have connected and they were definitely fresh enough to where you know you haven't seen the concepts before.

I normally go for the cleaner read with the better executed lines, but I feel I gotta go with Sho on this one. Felt what he did bring to the table, creatively, was just better here than what EtH brought, although EtH's verse was nothing to sneeze at and I would use his verse as a template as to how you should write your verse. Good battle here!

Expo: Dionysus was the Greek god of wine and revelry (I don't think they literally had keg parties but you can see the connection there). Utilitarianism is a philosophy which claims that you can hypothetically use math to determine what is or isn't ethical. "Nekulturny" is a Russian insult that roughly translates to "uncultured," like a peasant would be.

Good spar fellas I understand it's a snipe but I've never been a fan of direct shots on an open drop it cud go either way both had highs and low's down to preference for me cuz it's that close Nogra not gonna lie ya opener is flames but after that it was downhill concepts were there just poorly executed.... EtH opener didn't connect for me it led to the hate crime punch which was done well a bit of a slanting issue but nothing major after that you took off with a slightly better direction conceptually and a stronger landing closer Which edged it.....great efforts fairs in

Both Equally punched but YGNs vocabulary was immense and he used it well.  Both verses were impressive

I debated this one a lot. I ended up leaning for EtH because Shodan was just a bit too obscure. Shodan your first line was really good. Second line, Granted, I’m not super brushed up on my mythology. but, I would know most of the gods, and never heard of this one. The idea of a keg party seemed like a bit of a stretch too. But the ultimate sin with that line was the Middle East part. Why would you or EtH be in the Middle East? See, in EtH’s verse, maybe it’s true that you DO like roughhousing, but you not liking it is atleast in the realm of likelihood that the punch can be believable. But since you and EtH have nothin to to do with the Middle East it just seems like a stretch. Utilitarianism line was extremely hot. But, then there’s the closer. Sure, I’m known to have my own relatively obscure punches myself, but I know some people will know it without an expo and rest can take the expo. I don’t think a single person on LB is gonna know what a nekulturny is. I just don’t. 

So we contrast this with EtH’s verse. The equestrian gaming line was a bit of a reach. But the rest of the verse is extremely clean and connects on impact. I liked the cross line and the gentrification line because they seemingly come out of nowhere (ie they’re not predictable) but have good set ups and land properly. I was iffy on the closer but when I looked at it, both had 2 fire lines, one ehhh line (Dionysus, Horseplay), and then there’s the closer and I’ve gotta say EtH’s closer was much better in comparison. So this is kind of how I came to my decision. 

Got shodan taking this. Tough battle. Shodan was a bit more efficient and was able to pull off 4 punches to eths 3. Also some very questionable rhyming on eths part.  WRESTLIN WOULD SCARE EM / EQUESTRIAN GAMING. Some nice punches from both. Had to Google shos closer and that always loses some points with me but he was still able to pull it off.
