This was good. Lock did really well with the scheme here, carrying it cleanly throughout. Pretty consistent punchwise except for a couple places...the closer stood out on the low end, the stretch from desperate fit to dr. pepper. Nicholas was really creative and had a higher punch count than Lock did. Sometimes punching back to back to back can leave a bar falling flatter than it should because of lack of setup bar...kinda happened here in spots. Some wordplay better than others but a smart verse that flowed pretty well...high point was the last 4 lines, low the first 4. Gonna have to gove this to the more consistent verse. good shit fellas Posted on: 2017-02-18 18:12:21 Private Message Esso

Dope shut guys.. I really don't have much negative to say bout either verse.. both came wit it.. few lines I wasn't feeling from both few multies from both that felt a bit forced to fit or stretched.. both had a cpl punches that his didn't work for me.. over all my choice winner his hit harder in my opinion.. gd shit again no h8 fv in Comment Only

First off, I'm not a fan of the bolded multies, but I'll try my best to overlook that here. Maybe it'll become a new trend. Anyway, I'll do a punch by punch breakdown on this one, followed by an overall analysis of both verses at the end... Lockhart: Shepherd bar was aiight. Not the most well-executed in my opinion, but the punch was definitely there. Bakers punch was good; I liked the way that you mixed the flip and the personal. Pregnant bar didn't appeal to me, and it had some bad wording: "your miscarry the weight" ??? Presidential debate bar was okay, decent personal but nothing super creative. Dr. Pepper bar was fairly complex in that it had several relevant references, but they were all fairly obvious. Nicholas: First bar was okay, I thought it took a bit too long to get to the actual punch but whatever. I also thought that "EXPECT IN PRISONS" messed up the rhythm, but maybe that's just me. Tibet bar... ehhhhh... concept was obvious and kinda played. Congo bar, concept was decent and it flowed well, but something about the wording didn't sit right with me. The backyard part of the concept in the next line seemed tacked on to me... the sub-way over loch bar was good though. The sub-way and lock/loch concepts are probably both played, but together they were pretty good, and I liked the execution/flow. Closing thoughts: Since the above was a bar-by-bar breakdown, I didn't mention that Lockhart schemed his verse. I'm a sucker for long schemes and I thought that his was well-executed. There were some hits and misses from both sides, but one had a better ratio. Not a bad battle at all, so apologies if I seemed harsh; I'm just pointing out the flaws to better explain my vote. Although sticking to a scheme, one was also dropping effective punches one right after the other. His opponent, although more creative in his punches, started off fairly weak with his punch-punch-punch technique, barely managing to bring it up towards the middle but finishing decently. My loser usually has a cleaner verse than this but my winner just outmatched him this time. Good bout fellas Comment Only
