Not giving this a decent expo would be a crime against texting, so here we go... I've read both verses four times, and I'm ready to make my decision. First off, I felt that both of these battlers weren't at their best. They both delivered quality material in their boxes and I'm not dissing either, but I have seen far better verses from both. Starting off with Lockhart, I'll admit that there's something about your delivery that I've never been a fan of, but here I enjoyed that aspect. Your concepts were at a live-battle-like mix of humor and technicality, keeping me entertained in every way throughout. You also varied up the recipe for that mix, making for an entertaining read that showed skill in many facets of punch creation. With some of your bars, I didn't catch everything the first time through; however, due to the permanent nature of text and the fact that I was re-reading everything, I was able to figure it all out. Especially I missed a lot of the sports stuff since I don't follow that. Moving on to Esso, I was also quite underwhelmed by what I saw. You brought in your signature style, full of setups and strong ending-flips, but the concepts themselves were a lot weaker than usual. You had a few spots where the complexity was impressive or I laughed out loud from your humor (mostly, these were the same spots). The rest of the verse, though, almost came off as filler despite being part of a punch because it was so far below the high points. On the plus side, setup-heavy longbars are most effective in longer battles like this one. Final Judgment: With factors like scheme length, scheme accuracy, flow, wording, etc., being effectively equal, this comes down to punchlines. I felt one was more consistent with his concepts and was more diverse, while the other was less consistent and more focused on a few aspects but had some powerful haymakers. It's close and might be a "personal stylistic preference" battle for some, but it's not a coin-flip, and I have my winner. Fair's in. No extra points for the 32, I don't do that shit. Mid-Low. My winner here was consistently hitting with punches as the other was a little hit and miss. Both steady with flow and concepts were on point, I got one edging in this category as he executed those better than his opponent, my loser closed a lot harder than my winner, but all in all, for me, this emcee was just a tad bit more consistent. this was fuckin tough.. both came with it on concepts.. one spun out a few double end multis, which was nice to see.. one dropped some personals and flipped them quite nicely..there were instances of inconsistent punch strenght by both but still entertaining. this came down to personals that werent just thrown out there, they were used as a concept and flipped fairly decently.. again tough to choose, but this one entertained me a bit more.. fairs in Voted: Esso /
