Decent spar, felt both had too much obvious nameplay lines that really lowered the impact of the verses. Solid show otherwise, with one being more consistant over the 16. Posted on: 2014-05-13 15:38:00 Private Message RULE

Expo: Z was a car made by Datsun, Fidel Castro was the leader of Cuba, which is a confined little island, and the Cuban Missile Crisis was an event where Castro threatened to drop bombs but didn't. Elections in Cuba are notoriously rigged, and the Bay of Pigs invasion was another famous Cuban military thing. Pigs are also cops. Fidel also puts "izz" in stuff, so if I put "z in a box" it would be "bizzox" and that would be copying his style. He joined Yamato clan for a little while and then came back. 9 MM caps was referring to the 9 captains Murda Muzik had at the time, as well as 9mm bullet caps, which could be used as evidence in a crime scene. Good luck Fidel, solid battle here. Comment Only

I thought it was going to be a hard decision until I re-read and reevaluated the second half of the loser's verse. It was a very good read overall though. Some interesting stuff on both sides. Fidel: I liked a few of your unique flips on common concepts. The "shut the fuck up" was pretty funny actually, I've never actually heard that one. Bread in the dirt/break bred were quite underwhelming and predictable but they were at least still executed. Schemework seemed to be fine aside from a few awkwad rhymes and non-rhymes [WELL?! JHEEEZ / SELFIES ... WACK MATE / DUCK FACE / UPDATE] It was a good verse, I liked the simplistic style and the readability. Bred: You started off slightly underwhelming, without any double-sided nature to the bar. It picked up however, with the "Cuban Missile Crisis" scheme which was nice and you used to in a conversational, relaxed manner. Great for readability. Bay of Pigs concept was meh, played punch in terms of squealing/ratting. Z in a Box, it could have been more original - reference to grammar was a cop-out. Z in a Box with a reference to an element would have been more original for example. PLAY WITH ME scheme was basic, didn't help your readability. At this point, I felt you had reached your limit with using 'Z' as a focal point for your concepts. Too predictable and it becomes monotonous. Closer was a decent gunplay, again a 3-syllable scheme which is unimpressive schemework. Work on more complex schemes and less played flips on your concepts. It was close up until the loser fell off in the second half of the verse. In general, I felt the winner had a lot more consistency, better schemework and more confidence in there referencing, set-ups and concepts. Vitty's vote's in. Voted: Wonderbred /

The Dope Man

Feeelin tha personals from both. My winner was a lil bit more consistent with his punches & i personally liked more of his than the losers. I'd really like to hear the winner do some audio. It flow'd fluently. Loser still came in.. I can tell your a smart dude & that'll take you a long way. My winner edged this, fair's in, no hate. {Since this is a LBT battle, im willing to do a bar for bar breakdown in the PMs or if y'all have any questions} Dope Shit. ~1~ Voted: Wonderbred /

Babylon

Mid to mid here, my loser had some okay bars, but some of it I've heard before in battles which turned me off a bit. The beginning name play in his verse didn't resonate with me as much, also, but other than that he seemed to be relatively on point with his concepts, minus the basic name play punches he had. I do think you should come up with some fresher concepts though, at least two I've seen in popular battles. I also heavily agree with RULE, though nameplay bars are fun to structure too many of them really lowers the impact of the verse for a 16. My winner got this based on intricate punches really, the opening flip was fire imo, I don't think that his name play really matched up with Fidel's nameplay, minus the first opener bar, though. He also had a broken multi or two in his verse which halted the fluidity of it in my opinion. Overall, I'd say both really need to work on better and fresher concepts then my winner needs to work on flow a bit. Good battle, no hate intended. Voted: Wonderbred /

I felt both were a little predictable at times or maybe im getting better...either way I could see the punches coming before they happened. I guess both were well setup then. The more predictsble of the two got my vote cos the punches just had that bit more impact than the others imo. Good battle though by both shit deserves hotlisting. Voted: Wonderbred /

Close! Both good drops just felt more punches coming out of my winners corner! Fidel u had it some punches and multies off but gb! Winner You had some ruff spots but if it wasnt for the consistent drop of punches and slight wordplay he could have overtaken this FV GB Voted: Wonderbred /

Apollyon

My choice was stronger, more consistent and more creative which took it for me.. The loser here needs to get straight to the creative punch with a nice creative buildup.. Overall decent battle.. Voted: Wonderbred /

This was honestly close as fuck for me. I was pretty impressed with both verses. Some spots didn't hit but more than not I was finding myself impressed with a lot of bars. For me it came down to a verse that was slightly more consistent dropping bars that I was nodding too. Enjoyed this battle a lot though. Voted: Wonderbred /
